Trooper Ryan Gerdes joined the Wyoming Highway Patrol July of 2019 after retiring from the Laramie Police Department.  He is currently a Trooper II assigned to Troop J (Laramie).  Trooper Gerdes' additional duties include being a Commercial Carrier Inspector, Alive at 25 instructor, Public Information Officer, and Integrating Communications, Assessment, and Tactics (ICAT) instructor.  Trooper Gerdes is a Wyoming native - originally from Cheyenne.  He earned his AA from the Community College of Aurora, his BA in Political Science & History from the University of Denver, and his MPA from Troy State University Atlantic Region.
