Class 106 of the Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper Academy began on January 8, 2024. Class 107 is scheduled to begin in early August, 2024. We're excited to offer an abbreviated 6-week onboarding training phase for individuals who meet the qualifications for Trooper II (Wyoming POST Advanced Peace Officer Certification or equivalent).
The Wyoming Highway Patrol offers a 20-week Trooper Basic Academy for new hires who do not have previous qualifying law enforcement experience. New hires who meet the qualifications regarding previous sworn law enforcement experience (Trooper II) may choose to attend the full 20-week Trooper Basic Academy or the 6-week in-house onboarding training phase before beginning Field Training. New Troopers are required to successfully complete their designated course of training at the Training Academy in Cheyenne, WY as a condition of their employment.
