Lieutenant Leo Ferguson currently serves as the WHP's Safety & Training Section supervisor.  Lt. Ferguson began his law enforcement career with the Wyoming Highway Patrol serving in Troop J - Laramie.  Lt. Ferguson was promoted to the WHP Academy Coordinator Sergeant position before becoming the Troop A - Cheyenne supervisor, earning the rank of lieutenant. Lt. Ferguson became the Safety & Training Section supervisor in 2024 and is responsible for overseeing the WHP's Trooper Basic Academy, FTO program, Public Information Officers, Advanced Training, agency recruiting, and safety education grants.
